Are You A Quarterback?
Entrepreneurship is like a game, a strategic game like the game chest. You have to think ahead of the game and know you competitors move to your best ability before they make their move. Why? You should be able to adjust to any strategic changes in your environment at any time. Do you like American football? Being an entrepreneur is a lot like being a quarterback. Nobody succeeds alone – nobody! You might not have a partner in your business, but you do have other people you depend on, right? Take the quarterback for example. Put him in a game against 11 other players and he will not stand a chance. Give him his team and they will cooperate, work together towards that touchdown.
Who are you dependent on in your home based business? If you don’t have a team you might now ever see that finish line, it’s likely you might now get any touchdowns.
So who is your Team and the more important question; should they be a part of your team or are they just slowing down your process of making that touchdown?
You’re the quarterback, the key player. The one in charge…I mean it’s your business, so naturally your opinion is the one that ultimately counts. But, are you the smartest guy/gal on the Team? Probably not! Yes, in some cases you probably are, but I bet you don’t have all the answers in every single area of your business. You might be a very good sales person, really good at sorting, prospecting, perhaps closing as well? What about accounting? Lead generation? Website programming?
Don’t worry if you feel overwhelmed when you get started in your endeavor. Actually you don’t have to be very bright, you just have to know where you can find the answers. If you think you have all the answers, and I don’t care how many degrees, ph.D’s you hold, believe me you do not have all the answers, and the fastest way to become good at something is to study someone who is already successful doing what you are striving to do.
You are going to find your success through other people. Leverage on other peoples expertise and you’ll be able to do extraordinary things. If you have a great team – you are going to win this game…!
