I recently sent a request to my database of small business owners, most of them; Network Marketers, for response regarding the topic people would like to get discussed more on this blog. The winner was lead generation and web 2.0 – hence the topic winner Online Lead Generation.
Online lead generation is what I personally will be writing about for the next period of time. How much in debt, how long I will keep writing about the various topics within the topic; online lead generation is unknown, but it’s a topic that we will always get back to on this blog.
Online lead generation is a very interesting topic and a very important element of your business, in fact, of most businesses. If you have no leads, your business has no business being a business.
You need leads – lot’s of leads! And online lead generation is a great way to get your hands on a horde of hungry leads for your particular business….but be aware..!
Online Lead Generation Is Not Going To Grow Your Business
You must think I wrote that wrong, but No! It’s a fact…online lead generation will not grow your business and it’s a common mistake we see all the time when people will generate their leads.
You can generate hundreds of leads, but if you don’t have a system in place to take care of your leads – it’s a waste. If you don’t know what to say to your leads – it’s a waste.
Once again, most people are wrong about what to say to their prospects and only a veeeery little percentage sign up of all the people they talk to. I will save this issue for later articles, right now we are talking about online lead generation.
Make no mistake about it; online lead generation absolutely rocks and yes you should be utilizing different web 2.0 strategies to capitalize on the power of the Internet. But be aware, leads generated online are not necessary any better than leads you’ve purchased.
The Best Way To Promote Online
The best way to grab your audience attention is with leading with the product or service you provide. Not everybody is your prospect and not everybody is looking for a fantastic opportunity like the one you might have to offer, but if you can target your most responsive market you can build your business in no time.
Make a list of the benefits of your product or service and think about whom the ideal prospect might be, where to find him/her online, what to say to get their interest etc.
Lead with the product and close with the opportunity!
Many of the MLM Online Lead Generation Gurus gives B.S. advice when it comes to growing a business. You should absolutely NOT make videos and put them on YouTube or open a Facebook account if your audience is not to be reached in those areas. The way to approach the different web 2.0 medias are also essential for the success of your online lead generation effort.
Create your message with the benefits in mind, not your company’s impressive balance sheet, nor the long and exciting history, not even the impressive product-line. Focus on one product and one benefit at the time; remember not everyone is your prospect. If you can target your market just right, you’ll not have to hear the word “No” hundreds of times before you get someone who consume what you offer or even join your business.
Online lead generation is an effective technique to grow your business, it does not matter if you are in affiliate marketing, network marketing, MLM, direct sales or you run a small business. They are all part of the same game.
