Personal Motivation
Today people are stressed out, they work all day, don’t feel like they have enough time to do the things they whish to do and so on. People get stuck. We tend to stop moving at some point of our lives, but why? I believe the reason is a lack of personal motivation. Also, time is an issue because we just don’t have enough of it to learn new things and get further in any way.
Personal motivation – this is a must when it comes to improving ourselves and our lives, and the lack of personal motivation makes us use our spare time to achieve instant and short-lived pleasures from things as entertainment and food. The downside to this is that most often what comes instant and quickly is not satisfying long term, at the matter of fact it can end up having a lasting negative impact.
To illustrate the above, try and think about junk food vs. veggies. Junk food may be very tasty while eating it, but it is not good for your body. Eating veggies may not taste as good as junk food, but it will make you feel better after doing it for a period of time.
Now, I am not saying that having fun is wrong, not at all, but if you want to experience long term satisfaction in your life, you will have to invest your time in yourself and become a person that stands out from normality. Become, not only a better person but, a part of the minority instead of doing what most is doing and hereby not getting anywhere. Remember, wanting success is not enough to get it, you will have to do some serious changes in your life to break the pattern of normality.
Is Average Good Enough For You?
Many would answer yes to this question, because they don’t want to strive and do their best, even though they may have talents that will make it easier for them. The majority of people, I believe, are not happy with the amount of money they are making. Most of these people would for sure like a change in their life. What is important to remember is the difference between intention and action. Intention is what drives us, while it is the action that will actually make us a part of the minority. Intention without action will not get us anywhere. To stand out from normality we therefore need personal motivation, we need something that will add action to our intention, and hereby get us closer to what we want.
Do Unusual Things
What is normal is defined by the majority. So, if you want to become a part of the minority you have to step out of the normal behaviour. There is a reason why some people are rich while some (most) are not. Most want to have more money but as I began this article, most also work all day long and when they finally have some spare time from their busy lives, they are either to tired to do anything or they seek instant pleasures and life have not changed. We get stuck and learn to live with average, while dreaming of the success we want. So, if you keep up with normal behaviour, you will for sure not stand out of normality. The Minority who is rich has forgotten all about normal behaviour – they do unusual things and that is why they are rich. It is that simple. If you want unusual outcomes you need to do unusual things.
Who Have What You Want?
Okay, you have your intention in place I’m sure. What you need now is the activities that will bring you closer to you goal. You have to study people who have what you want to have. Someone who has achieved the things you wish to achieve. Why? Because they have done it, they are doing it right now; they know exactly what steps are required to get there. This is the greatest education you can ever get.
What To Do
There are a couple of things that are general when it comes to achieving some kind of success in life. Below here I have listed some important things, but before anything else you must be ready to change your attitude and your activities.
• Invest in yourself – If you are serious about making changes you must (if not eliminate) reduce the instant pleasures and replace those with things that will do you good long term
• Replace behaviours that hinder you in making progress with behaviours that will move you towards the outcome you desire
• Make the new, better and positive behaviour pattern a habit so that it will seem wrong not to do them
• Do not settle with average
You can be above average, the unusual and a part of the minority that achieve the success they want. You just need to remember the things I have listed above, use your time in a productive manner and stop being just like anyone else. Educate yourself by studying people who have achieved what you whish to achieve and let them be your personal motivation. Do not quit because of other’s opinion or because it is too hard. Just remember to do what most people never bother to do and you will succeed.
