The Lies You are Told in Network Marketing – Part 2
I will in this article go on with what I started in the last article The Lies You are Told in Network Marketing – Part 1. I will give you some more examples on the things we are taught by the network marketing industry – methods and techniques that don’t benefit anyone but the companies and a few distributors. To succeed in this business it is very important that you recognize what doesn’t work and then make the effort to change.
There is much to learn about building a network marketing business. I’m not saying that it isn’t possible because it is, but you just have to learn how to become a great marketer, and even though you might think so, you will never get the knowledge you need from the network marketing companies. But now I will give you a few more examples on the lies we are told, when joining a network marketing company.
“Give a presentation and the opportunity and product will sell itself. Who doesn’t want to make lots of money? Nobody – people will therefore be thrilled about this opportunity and they will close themselves and join your business just after seeing a presentation or/and talking with your upline.”
That sounds easy! Your business will be huge in no time, right? Or not… Anyone who has been in the network marketing industry for a while will for sure agree with me when I say that the statement above is very far from the truth. There a many important factors when it comes to both selling your product/service and making a person joining your business.
People want to feel safe! They want to feel that they are in good hands and therefore you must be the expert. You must ask them the right questions to help them the best way possible – because that is what you want to do, help them. You don’t want to sell people something they don’t really want or need. You have to demonstrate leadership and confidence to make the consumer enjoy the buying situation.
“If someone who has seen a presentation isn’t interested, give them time. They might say ‘no’ now, but don’t forget them – they are still your prospects. There can be lots of reasons why they aren’t interested, and perhaps they just didn’t understand how big an opportunity it really is and how little it actually takes to make a lot of money.”
DON’T get back to anyone who has shown not to be interested! If they should – against all odds – change their mind and actually become interested, believe me, they will contact you. The only result you will get out of getting back to the people who have said ‘no’ and ask them again, and again, is that you will seem very unprofessional and also extremely annoying. And that is not what you want to appear as – you should much rather be professional and confident while demonstration leadership like I said earlier.
“Ask everyone you know – Everyone is your prospect! When you have made your list of all the people you know, just get started. Everyone have to get the chance, because it is often the people you least would expect it who joins your business.”
No, everyone is not your prospects and you should stop bugging everyone you know. As I said in the last article, leave your warm market alone when it comes to your network marketing business. Separate your friends and family from your business. And also, stop wasting time chasing people who haven’t the least interest in what you have to offer. The trick is to make the interested people come to you, and this way you will become the answer to their problem or need. This is something you have to learn in the process of becoming a great marketer. Make the people come to you and stop wasting your time on people that isn’t even close to being prospects.
The network marketing industry wants you to think that joining them is close to winning the lottery. But believe me, it isn’t. First of all, you have to learn how to become a great marketer and then you have to work hard to achieve the success you want. It is not just finding two who finds two and then you can sit back and enjoy life while your business is growing. You have to learn and then later teach your downline how to succeed, or else, you will never achieve success. But I really like the opportunity that comes along with the network marketing industry, because there are no limits and you can really make it big! You just have to recognize that it takes time and effort to get there.
