The Zeigarnik Effect

Is your downline growing as fast as you want it to? Do you enjoy being with the network marketing company you are with right now? Or would you like your downline to grow faster, and in a way that you can feel good about?

Well, that is exactly what I want to write about in this article. How you turn your situation around – because that is what you have to do, begin to see your business differently and open up for new methods when it comes to building your network marketing business.

I am sure that you have been told what to do to grow a huge downline and hereby experience success with your business. The statistics do not look good, and only about 3% of the people who joins a network marketing company achieves success. But I bet, at some time, you have thought that you for sure will be among those 3% if you just keep working hard, showing everyone you know this great opportunity. Are you still convinced?

I’ll tell you one thing – I believed, that if I just asked all the people I knew, friends, family and everyone else, I would for sure have success within a couple of years – huge success. But what happened? Actually, not much. I met scepticism and rejection and I began to loose faith. Perhaps network marketing wasn’t for me. But fortunately I didn’t quit. And soon I turned elsewhere to learn how to build my network marketing business.

It certainly takes a lot of work to do it right, but if you just do it, your success is for sure within reach. There are some simple things you have to avoid and some you have to posses.

You need to have
• A strong reason why
• The right mindset
• Persistence

You need to avoid
• Cold calling
• Pestering your friends and family (and anyone else you know)
• Facing rejection

But then what to do? If you haven’t heard of it before, I will like to introduce you to the Zeigarnik Effect. This effect states that people remember uncompleted or interrupted tasks better than completed ones. So, what you want to do is to stimulate people’s curiosity.

To illustrate the above, think about e.g. television shows. Before the boring commercials, something exiting happens, but the outcome of the situation is still left out. Why? Because they want us to stay and keep watching. And it works, right? We are curious! The same goes for local news – we hear an exiting headline and to see what it is all about we have to watch the news at nine pm. We a curious and the television get turned on at nine pm.

This is exactly what you should do. Write killer headlines, give people just enough to stimulate their curiosity so that they take action to satisfy their curiosity. In this way, the prospects comes to you to get more knowledge about what you have, and you help them by providing whatever your network marketing business provides.
