What Do You Believe?
Now this question has absolutely nothing to do with religion what so ever. I am talking about the beliefs that you might not be aware of – yet. You want to become in control of your life, right? Well, believing is a function in our consciousness, and by becoming aware of our beliefs we are able to get in control of our life and future circumstances.
Our whole life is built around beliefs, and you are the one to choose what your life is going to be built around. Sounds good? Sure, not as easy as you would want it to be, but possible. Before anything else, you must take responsibility for your life. I can not emphasize it enough – YOU are the only one responsible for the direction your life is going. Not your parents, not your partner, not your friends and certainly not the media! You can blame them, sure, but it is not their fault that you are where you are today.
So, where do your current beliefs come from? Well, if you are an observer you will pick up your beliefs from your surroundings, and this is certainly the easiest way to live your life. But is this taking responsibility? No, this way you will just go with the flow and let everybody else decide which way your life is going.
What I want you to do is to step out of this observer-role and then start creating your own beliefs. This way you will become the creator of your life. Sure you can not blame anybody else if something goes wrong, but also, when you have success, you have yourself to thank.
Most of our beliefs are very old and come from our parents, teachers, friends and the media. You need to re-evaluate all of those old beliefs and decide which ones you want to keep and which you do not. Then you must replace some of the old beliefs with new ones. But how is this done? Well, in most situations we tend to dig up old experience and with this in mind we act – this is a re-action. What I want you to do is to analyze every new situation instead of just using old information – this is an action. So, act! By taking action and not just moving along with what we would usually do, we point our life in the direction we want it to go, and this way we are in control of our life.
Your beliefs are an instrument which is very powerful and by using it correctly you can shape your reality. By actually taking responsibility for your life you are able to create the reality you want for yourself. If you are truly serious about making a change, recognize that you are responsible for your current circumstances and take action to get where you want to be. So, what do you believe?
