Which Online Business Is The Best?
The question; “Which Online Business Is The Best?” really has no easy answer. It depends on your personality and what you are trying to accomplish. Are you looking for maximum potential and do you want to create wealth, create a legacy you can pass on to your kids? How much effort are you willing to put into your online business? Is it a hand-off system you want, so you don’t have to talk to people?
One has to recognize that the possibilities for online business have become extreme in the 21st century. With the web 2.0 tools and all the social media sites the possibilities for even non-technical individuals have exploded. You can with a push of a button have your own website up and running, it literally takes under 5 minutes. And you should have some online real estate (your presence online).
The most popular (and profitable) ways of earning money online these days are (in no order of relevance):
1. Blogging
2. Affiliate marketing
3. Mini pages
4. Network marketing
Let’s take a closer look at each one of them…
Before you continue reading, you should know it might get a little technical and I do not explain how to do things in detail in this article. I can do that in future posts if that’s something you want to know more about.
Blogging
You can get a free blog at blogger.com or wordpress.com or at another free blogging service. However, I recommend Wordpres.org. At wordpress.org you can download the wordpress software used at the free service you find at wordpress.com.
You can download the software for free and install it on a server. By doing this you will own the blog, if you write on a blog on one of the free services, however you will not own the blog. The service provider has the right to eliminate your blog without given you prior notice, if they find your use of their service in violation with their terms of use and most of the free social services frown upon promotion and advertising if you run a business and advertise your product or service to get sales.
If you install the wordpress software on a server, you own the blog and nobody will ever make it disappear. That is unless you don’t pay your hosting company for the hosting or if you don’t have a server run by yourself.
I have heard some ugly stories about people who had a great blog, tons of content, hence, a lot of work put into their blog, we are talking countless hours. One morning when they tried to log in to their blog account, the service provider had a message display on their screen saying something about they had violated the terms of use and they had removed the blog because of that – forever! A quick site note, if your account gets “blacklisted” it will never be undone! You cannot talk to these guys; they don’t care about your story and why they should open your account again, how unreasonable it was, etc.
Just like that. By the push of a button in their end and the blog vanished. Gone! By getting your own blog, at your own server, this will never happen to you. Hate to see your blog, when it has 50.000 readers and generates between $5.000 and $25.000 a month, disappear one morning.
You can register for an external server so you don’t have to get your own equipment at Hostgator.com just to mention one possibility. You will want to mask the domain by buying a domain name and masking your server domain with one of your choice. Be creative and pick something that relates to your topic of discussion on your blog. It is a very important factor if you want search traffic also known as organic traffic.
Another way of blogging has become really popular with the web 2.0 tool; Squidoo. You can get your own lens at squidoo.com in 3 simple steps. Nothing difficult or technical will trouble you setting up a squidoo lens. A lens is just the term squidoo use for the website you get. Actually, it’s more like a blog.
The way you get paid with squidoo is with Google Adsense. You will automatically have Google Adsense showed on your site, squidoo takes some of the earnings and you get a part of the earnings coming from your site. You have to share the profit, but the system is really easy to use and squidoo helps you redirect traffic to your site within the squidoo network. Another great benefit is that squidoo ranks high on google and other search engines, bringing you new free targeted search traffic. You can also use squidoo as a lead generator for your business.
Affiliate Marketing
What is affiliate marketing? Affiliate marketing is you market someone else’s products and getting paid a commission every time someone you referred, to that particular product, buys.
Affiliate marketing is a great way to make an income online, you don’t have to worry about anything other than traffic. Getting people in front of a sales message and wait for them to buy. The product, the sales page, the guarantee, customer service, the delivery system, everything will be handled for you. All required on your part is getting targeted traffic to the sales page with your affiliate id attached to it.
Mini Sites
A mini site is a sale funnel just like with the affiliate marketing system, but here you’re creating the sales funnel yourself, the product, the sales letter, setting up the system, etc. The big plus with a mini site is that you get to keep all the profit.
A mini site works in two types of versions. In both cases you have a capture page also called a squeeze page. The two most common used methods to use a squeeze page is:
1. The first way to use the squeeze page is to put up the page as an entry door the prospect has to enter to get to the “restricted” area. If they want access they have to submit their information.
2. The second way is to use it as a mini sales page, but you are not selling anything, you are giving it away for free. You give away something you know your audience finds interesting and helpful (this is important, it really has to be beneficial for the reader). The website visitor on your website will have two choices, either leave or submit the information and get your free report, a video series, whatever you are giving away as an incentive for your prospect to type in his information.
In both cases the prospect will be redirected to either a “thank you” white-listing page telling the prospect to confirm his subscription or he will be directly redirected to your sales page with your offer.
In both cases you have the prospects email information and you can start sending follow-up emails. There is a saying that the prospect will not buy from you until the fifth contact. This is why you need an auto responder in place so you can keep contact with your leads and direct them to your sales page again if they didn’t buy the first time.
When a prospect buy, he will be taken to a download page/thank you page. I find it to be a fair assumption to think that you want a hands-off system, why you want your product to be digital and something the buyer can download immediately from the download page. You can see an example of a mini site for network marketer here.
Network Marketing As An Online Business
Which MLM companies can be run online? That’s a popular question and the answer is simple. All of them – and none of them. Let me elaborate. You want leads, people who are interested in your product, service and/or opportunity if you are growing a network marketing business, correct?
You can set up a squeeze page and then do some advertising with Google adwords (or yahoo or msn or any other search marketing advertisement service you prefer – or all of them)
I only recommend using PPC advertisement if you know what you are doing. It’s an extremely powerful tool and just like a chainsaw – powerful tool but dangerous in the wrong hands or if you don’t know what you’re doing.
I claimed as well that none of the MLM companies could be run online. The reason being that network marketing is a people based business, it is a relationship business and you simply cannot grow your business without ever talking to your prospect, how are you going to sign somebody up in your business? You might be able to qualify your prospects so much that when they call you they are almost begging you to take their credit card information – but you still need to speak to the prospect.
Don’t ask which MLM can be run online! Because the answer is simple and yet very complex. All of them and none of them.
Network marketing is maybe the business with the biggest potential, but one has to recognize that it’s also the business with the largest workload. But do not consider network marketing if you’re not truly committed and really want to create wealth and grow a prosperous business.
You can easily create an additional income of a thousand bucks working just a little bit, but if you want to earn the big bucks – there is no magic pill. You have to know what you’re doing, it doesn’t matter that you put 30 hours a week into your business if you don’t know how to grow a business. You need to learn the skillset of being a marketer and a business owner. If you did not get your copy of you free network marketing report, click here to claim your copy now
Why We Recommend Network Marketing As The Best Online Business
I already stated that MLM is a people based business, so why do we say it’s the best online business?
To grow a large organization in MLM you have to know two basic principles to succeed. Lead with the product and close with the opportunity and learn how to master the technique; ‘positioning’. Positioning is what makes big organization grow bigger. Grow them faster and larger at a very quick pace.
If you lead with the product in your network marketing business and you have a lead generation system set up for you just like a mini site. You can create an information-product, perhaps a guide about your industry. Let’s assume you are in weight loss, you could create a guide on how to eat properly, things to avoid in the diet and what’s important in your diet for your overall health and/or the importance of a workout once a while, etc. Be creative but make sure your prospects have a demand for what you offer. Create a mini site and sell the guide/e-book on your “thank you” page right after a prospect have entered his information on the squeeze page.
A great way to boost your income from that mini site is to find affiliate products your prospects could be interested in and offer these products to your leads on the download page. The prospect has already spent money on something related, the likelihood for him to purchase the recommended product might be pretty good and you make more money, just to generate the lead for your MLM. The sole intention is still to sign the prospect up in your network marketing business and explode your downline.
Now you are making money using a mini site, affiliate marketing and you could add a blog with great content about your industry and products benefits. On the blog you should have links to your different affiliate offers and your prospects will again get exposed to offerings and you will hereby make money.
This is a fantastic way to offset your lead generation cost. If you use PPC you are spending money on advertisement. I highly recommend PPC because it’s the fastest way to get huge amounts of traffic. Again, do not get into PPC if you don’t know what you’re doing and please make sure you read my network marketing exposed report before you continue your MLM journey.
Do you see how the potential of your online income will grow by utilizing every online business strategy in one business? Keep in mind you are building a list with your squeeze page, you promise something unbelievable and your prospect get a free report or whatever the case might be, and please make sure whatever you offer has real value for the prospect and it’s beneficial for the reader. Your prospect gets into your database and you just created a lead for your MLM. If you do not close the prospect into your MLM business, you will now still have several ways to profit on this lead.
Get out on the Internet and start building your database, build your list. You can sign up for an account at Aweber.com, Getresponse.com or iContact.com. Personally we use Aweber and we highly recommend them. The most important factor to keep in mind is the delivery rate. Meaning how many of the emails you send actually gets to your leads’ email inbox. What good does it do you if you send an email to your database and nobody get’s that email?
Keep in mind that the most important part of your business is your database, so you don’t want to choose some cheap solution here. Do some due diligence and pick the one that fits your needs the best.
Again, the most important element of your business, actually the most important part of any business; Wal-Mart, Microsoft, McDonalds it doesn’t matter, the single most valuable asset of any business is the company’s database. How valuable is yours?
